For many years, Safe Silver Spring has been a vital link between residents and law enforcement officials in the Third District of the Montgomery County Police Department. We are in touch regularly with our County Chief of Police and elected officials in County government. We meet with police to gather information about crime in our area and how to stay safe.

One of our key functions is to stay on top of crime incidents and inform residents of the latest news. We primarily use our Facebook page for quick updates. We publish crime statistics and safety tips from the police department. And we tell county residents what they can do to be active in a safe community.

Safe Silver Spring gets involved in new legislation or updates to existing legislation dealing with community safety, whether it's at the county or state level of government. We have testified in Annapolis and before the Montgomery County County many times. We are a respected voice in the community.
